Literature Text

What do you want from me?
He shouts from the closet
Or was he under the bed?
I've never seen his face so red.

My face must have betrayed me
Shook me to my blue and yellow soul
He looks on my eyes
With such a tenderly.

I've never seen a look like that.
Not from a n y o n e
No other lover,
Not my mother or father.

But then I'm back handed.
Violent stars dance before me
What do you want from me!
I whisper:

I'd like some
Love
Respect
Affection

Passion
Fondness
Understanding
Empathy

Instead
I get way more than
I asked for, I tried to
Dodge you...escape...run

Back hand to the face
Blood flows like
E v e r y other time.
Stains my face (and top) again,

You SCREAM
Punch
Kick
Slap
m e.

I am liqudated
A mere puddle on the floor
You step in me
Drag me across to the door.

I quietly mop myself up.
You don't love me any more.
